Black History Month 2026

“Celebrating Our Black 2025” by Steven Hatchett

Honoring 100 Years of Black History, Culture, and Community!

Black History Month has always been more than a moment, it’s a living, breathing celebration of resilience, creativity, and collective power. And this year, it carries even more weight as we mark 100 years of Black History Month, honoring a century of storytelling, preservation, and cultural truth.

As Austin’s cultural tour guide, Where Y’all At Though?! curated this guide to help you move through February with intention. From events we’re hosting ourselves to community-led activations across the city, this guide highlights spaces where Black history isn’t just remembered….it’s experienced.

Whether you’re new to Austin or deeply rooted here, Black History Month is an opportunity to gather, reflect, celebrate, and continue building community together.

WYAT?! Black History Month Events

This year, we’re proud to host and curate experiences that center Black joy, connection, and visibility. Our Black History Month programming is rooted in togetherness, creating space for conversation, celebration, and cultural affirmation.
