Family Night: A Juneteenth Celebration

Join Where Y’all At Though at Thinkery for a free Juneteenth celebration centered on culture, community, and joy during our monthly Family Night Hours.

Community Partners

Where Y’all At Though?!
Freedom Flag Station: Decorate your own Juneteenth Freedom Flag using colorful paper, star stickers, markers, and glue. As families create, they’ll learn about the colors and symbols that represent freedom, new beginnings, and Texas roots.

The Moms Are Leaving
Build-A-Community Map: Help build a collaborative community map by adding drawings, words, and stickers that represent places you love, such as your home, school, park, church, or neighborhood. Together, families will create a visual celebration of the communities that help us grow and connect.

Crafted Joyz
DIY Harmonica Station: Create a simple harmonica using popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and paper strips. As you build, explore how music has long been a form of storytelling, creativity, and expression in Black culture.

Artchives
DIY Shakers: Design and decorate your own shaker using recycled containers, rice or beans, tape, and colorful decorations. Then put your instrument to the test as you create rhythms and explore the joy of making music together.
